Some of my 600 cameras have issues ejecting sometimes too, so my advice for any camera is to not be too precious about the film, because you will likely have some duds. Modifying Polaroid Spectra to take 600/I-Type film Hi polaroid people Since Spectra film was discontinued earlier this year my Spectra system has been sitting in the closet and collecting dust ever since. It’ll probably kill the motor if they don’t fix the film thickness issue soon. My camera ejects the film fine but it does it really slowly and it sounds like it is working really hard to eject. It definitely does have an issue with being too thick for some cameras and might not eject properly. I don’t believe they have an issue producing it. I signed up for email alerts for spectra film before I bought it at a shop and they emailed me when it was in stock again. Remember, test film and dark slides eventually become worn enough that. You can also sign up for email alerts for out of stock products so you know when they have it back in stock. Definitely beats shoving 600 film into an old Spectra cartridge though :) Some tips on actually doing it: -Test the thing with old/exposed film before using real film mine required adjusting (flattening) the spring before it would reliably eject the film and dark slide. How long does Polaroid 600 battery last New Polaroid packs are great, as they have fresh, powerful batteries in each pack for 600 and SX-70 and they last well beyond 8 shots. Also, I always recommend people sign up for an account at and then that way you can take advantage of their rewards points system when you order directly from them. Spectra cameras can auto focus, have bigger aperture and can take sharper pics than 600 series cams. The Polaroid Spectra System is powered by a small battery in the film cartridge itself. I’ve had luck getting spectra film at my local shop. I would suggest checking out local small camera shops. It was primarily focused on professional markets, and is a bit harder to find than 600/SX-70 cameras. ![]() Polaroid Originals is the only manufacturer of film for new or vintage Polaroid cameras. The Polaroid Spectra/Image/1200 was an offshoot of Polaroid 600 that has a slightly larger frame. ![]()
